Turtle Farm
I made myself a turtle farm. Or more accurately, a “scute” farm. Scute are defined as “a thickened horny or bony plate on a turtle’s shell”. The definition goes on to include the “back of a crocodile, stegosaurus, etc” but we will focus on the turtle. It is basically the equivalent of a scale. In Minecraft, they are dropped when a baby turtle matures into an adult and can be used to craft a turtle shell helmet.
My design is based on designs found in YouTube
I thought that turtles only bred on the sand block they were hatched on. It turns out they mean the beach they were born on, not the particular block. This led me down a path of wanting to move the eggs which meant I needed a tool with Silk Touch. It wound up taking a long time to get one of these, but then I rewatched the videos and found out I could just build the farm around a couple of turtles.
Once the farm is up and running, it takes several games days for the eggs to hatch. This zombie was not happy (they like to stomp of turtle eggs)
