Minecraft Silverfish

Arghh…my new least favorite mob. Silverfish.

I was clearing out space form my Zombie Spawner when I was jump-scared by a swarm of unknown meanies. I looked around and didn’t see what was attacking my, unaware that my feet were being attacked by the minuscule menace.

I tried to fight them off, but saw my health decreasing fast, so I ran away. Up the stairs to safety. I would turn around occasionally and they were still there. It was a long trek to the surface, but there was a door at the top.

I made it to the top, took a breath and then noticed my pants were gone. Basically, they ate through was remained of my diamond leggings.

Apparently, silverfish hibernate as stone blocks. If you kill one in a single blow (perhaps with “Bane of Arthropods”) you are good but if you miss, a swarm of additional silverfish will appear and attack.
