The toilet\u2019s filler valve is spraying water during a flush\/fill. The water is deflected by the tank lid and occasionally splashes out on the tank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/paynecentral.com\/tompayne\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/img_4240.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The source of the leak<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The toilet is a Kohler San Rafael K-3397-eb. I found a universal replacement part for the entire filler valve assembly for $17 on Amazon, but after some additional research, I discovered that it is not a replacement my discontinued 84499 model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After some additional googling, it appears you can aftermarket replacements\u2026for upwards of $89.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time for some MacGyver-ing. I could not actually localize the leak but it generally seems to be near the blue stem thingy. I thought about using some caulk or sealant but was afraid I would muck up some operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, I found a rubber washer\/spacer in my junk drawer and just hung it on the blue stem thingy. It generally deflects the water there and little gets to the tank lid to splash out.
