Welcome to Subject: Sniffy, home to the adventures of Sniffy the Cat in the the wonderful world of physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sniffy was originally the brainchild of Mark Salvacion, a good friend from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. Sniffy was created in the margins of class notes and was regularly the victim of a roving pack of \u201crenegade carnivorous squirrels\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sniffy was adopted by Tom Payne (myself) where he travelled to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and journeyed through the margins of Tom\u2019s class notes, most often in Physics calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercises presented on this site were originally compiles in the journal below. Begun in the fall of 1983, the intention was to re-construct the margin doodles from physics class notes and ultimately be the proof of concept for a published collection of Sniffy problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sniffy was also immortalized in Tom’s “Sculpture and Welding” class at RPI. He has been prominently displayed in Tom’s home for decades…but few know the full story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
